about

Hey all, Zextillion here!
Thank you for checking out this album for the 3rd annual Redditaisai.
I did not actually make anything new this year because I burned myself out making Gensokyo Underground Funk last year (which you should totally check out by the way, it's awesome and free). This is just a collection of drafts and demoes that did not make it to the final versions of Scarlet Breaks or Gensokyo Underground Funk, either because I thought the song was trash, it did not fit what I wanted the song to be, it was basically a complete ripoff of another song, or it did not fit the rest of the album (or sound like a Touhou song at all for that matter).
If you haven't listened to Scarlet Breaks or Gensokyo Underground Funk yet, I'd recommend you listen to those before this album because I think those better represent my "artistic vision" whatever that is.

This is mainly to get a kick out of the people who liked my other stuff. Also so I had something to show.
I got rid of all my reserve stuff this year, so now I actually have to do something for next year, haha.

Some fun facts about some of the songs:
Good Cheer Go! had five versions before I settled on the one in Gensokyo Underground Funk. I did not want to make 1/5 of the songs in this album all terrible remixes of the same song, so I left all of them out.
Gensokyo Underground Funk was supposed to be a Touhou 7 remix album before I decided to make it a Touhou 11 remix album. What happened is I couldn't make any good remixes for every song in either of them so I just scrapped that idea.
Starlight Eyes definitely sounds nothing like Hartmann's Youkai Girl, but I liked the sample so much that I ended up making it its own thing, and also threw it in here because I just really like how it turned out.
I was considering putting Border of Life in Gensokyo Underground Funk but I decided it just did not mesh with the rest of the album.
I wanted to put in The Doll Maker of Bucuresti in Gensokyo Underground Funk but I thought it sounded terrible.
I was going to throw in You Must Be Tired, Go To Sleep! into Gensokyo Underground Funk as is, but it didn't sound very lullaby-like (not like the final version is), so I changed up the melody to get Love What You Do! and remade it.
I sampled every single song in Scarlet Breaks (the album) for Scarlet Breaks (the song). In fact, I made the entire song using nothing but samples from the album.
